English Graded Readers (CEFR)

In foreign language learning, many teachers and other experts use the Common European Framework of Reference, usually known as the CEFR, when discussing the level that a student has reached. Language learners are categorised into three broad levels that are further broken down into two sublevels: Basic Users (A1, A2), Independent Users (B1, B2) and Proficient Users (C1, C2). The CEFR is also intended to make it easier for educational institutions and employers to evaluate the language qualifications of candidates to education admission or employment.

Our popular graded readers from age 12+ are a great choice for learners of English as a foreign language across the world and correlate to the CEFR levels. Whether you’re looking for classics, contemporary fiction, plays, biographies or non-fiction we have hundreds of original and adapted texts - listed by level or by publisher to ensure comfortable reading for all language learners.
