International Women’s Day 8th March

First celebrated by socialist movements and communist countries in the early 20th century International Women’s Day became a global holiday when the UN adapted it in 1977. This year’s campaign #InspireInclusion wants to inspire a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination where difference is valued and celebrated.

Here at Browns Books, we could not be prouder as a company to join in with championing equity for women on this, and every, day. We’ve gathered plenty of reading material to honour fantastic women from history and to take inspiration from today’s role models.

“Feminism isn’t about making women stronger; women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength” - G D Anderson
