Adobe Digital Editions Sign-In Is Changing from 23 June 2026

Adobe ACS is now operated by Wipro, following their acquisition of the system. As part of this transition, Wipro are introducing a new authentication requirement in partnership with their licensing provider, Datalogics. From 23 June 2026: Adobe ID will be replaced by a Bytebooks ID for signing in to Adobe Digital Editions. Users who already have ADE installed and authorised on their device are unlikely to notice an immediate change — however, anyone installing ADE on a new device or prompted to sign in again will need a Bytebooks ID. Using the same email address as your existing Adobe ID will ensure your eBook licences carry over automatically. For more details regarding this change visit: Bytebooks Transition Help Page.

Have you tried the VLeBooks app?

  • - Access your full eBook collection in one place
  • - Read online or download for offline use
  • - Works on desktop, tablet, and mobile

From 30 June 2026, the VLeBooks app will be enabled as a download option for all accounts that do not already have it — appearing alongside ADE. Many institutions already have it available, so it may already be an option for your users to access downloaded content.

If you would like VLeBooks enabled before 30 June, or wish to disable ADE as a download option in the meantime, please contact Customer Services at customer.services@brownsbfs.co.uk.
