The Snow Queen

"The Snow Queen" is one of the longest and best-loved tales of Hans Christian Andersen.

The Danish writer managed to evoke throughout the story a unique atmosphere of wonder, thanks to the spellbinding Nordic landscapes described as well as the unique characters who wander through them, above all, the haughty and cool Queen who is able to freeze hearts with her glacial kiss.

All the magic of Andersen's knowing narration, unabridged though adapted in its language to render it accessible to a young and contemporary audience, is found reflected in the pictures that accompany the story, wonderfully illustrated by Manuela Adreani.

After taking a diploma specializing in illustration, she worked as a graphic artist and then progressed to the world of animation.

After winning a scholarship for a master course in animation at Turin's IED (European Institute of Design), she worked for the Lastrego e Testa studio on TV series produced and broadcast by Italy's RAI television: "Le avventure di Aladino" (Aladdin), "Amita della Giungla" (Amita from the Jungle) and also on "La Creazione" (The Creation), based on the book by Carlo Fruttero.

In 2011 she embarked on a career as a freelance illustrator, working with Benchmark and Scholastic India.

She was one of the winners of the illustration contest organized for the 130th anniversary of the creation of Pinocchio.

She illustrated the volumes Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland (2013), Snow White, The Wizard of Oz (2014) for White Star Kids. 40 colour illustrations
