Period drama based on an unfinished short story by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Set during the Napoleonic wars, the film stars Jean-Marc Barr as Captain Jacques St.

Ives, a Hussar who is captured and sent to a prison camp in Scotland, commanded by Major Chevening (Richard E.

Grant). Both St. Ives and Chevening have their sights set on the beautiful Flora (Anna Friel), who lives with her aunt, Susan Gilchrist (Miranda Richardson).

Jacques decides to escape from the prison camp in an attempt to find his relatives and win the heart of Flora.
