Professional values and practice : achieving the standards for QTS

As well as demonstrating subject knowledge, student teachers must now be able to demonstrate that they have the attitudes and commitment to be expected of anyone qualifying to be a teacher. The professional code of the General Teaching Council lists eight new standards, each of them analyzed here in detail using questions and activities to describe what trainee teachers need to know, understand and demonstrate as they work towards Qualified Teacher Status.
