Au Hasard Balthazar - The Criterion Collection

Anne Wiazemsky stars in Robert Bresson's classic tale about a donkey named Balthazar who passes into the care of a number of owners, each of whom displays mankind's capacity for kindness or cruelty.

When he finds Marie (Wiazemsky) however, they quickly develop a special bond, but as Marie gets older, she and Balthazar grow apart.
