Application of number: Projects for GNVQ business Foundation and intermediate - Projects for Gnvq Business - Foundation and Intermediate

One of a series which supports the learning of and use of core skills in vocational contexts, this project pack extends relevant tasks from the CRAC GNVQ assignment packs in business (foundation and intermediate) so as to explicitly cover every technique for Application of Number. This pack consists of 24 photocopiable projects. It provides students with the opportunity to bring together and apply their number skills on projects which explicitly cover the Application of Number evidence indicators at levels 1 and 2 in the context of the Foundation or Intermediate Business GNVQ. When they complete these projects, students will be able to generate evidence for all three elements of the Application of Number unit at level 1 or 2.

They will improve their understanding of the numerical aspect of business concepts, and develop their skills in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data in graphs, charts and diagrams. Each project consists of an introductory page linking it to the relevant unit and element of the Foundation or Intermediate Business GNVQ, plus a business scenario describing a realistic situation in which number skills are needed.

A list of steps are included which students have to work through to complete the project as well as a list of the range techniques from level 1 and 2 Application of Number that students will need to use to complete it. The pack also contains model answers to the projects; guidelines for integrating the projects in assignments; a tutor's and students' introduction; and grids relating each project to the mandatory units and elements of the Foundation or Intermediate Business GNVQ and to the Application of Number elements at level 1 and 2.
