Part of a new series for teenagers which takes a fresh look at the most influential trends in twentieth century fashion.

The text and illustrations place fashion in the context of contemporary culture, international events and the relentless pace of social change. The first section provides an overview of the decade, examining fashion developments in the light of trends in the arts, technology, politics and living patterns. The second section is divided into eight four-page sections highlighting individual themes. Yvonne Connikie, who lives in Chelsea, London, has worked in every area of the fashion industry and is now running an independent design group.
