Following the death of her estranged father, Ronit Krushka (Weisz) returns from New York to the Orthodox Jewish community in London in which she was raised but chose to abandon.

Staying with her childhood friend Dovid (Alessandro Nivola), Ronit rekindles an illicit passionate love affair with his wife, Esti (McAdams), which threatens to spark outrage in their community and causes both women to question their faith and their future.
