White Night is one of the literal masterpieces written by the author in the 1940s and a medium-length novel with strong lyrical atmosphere.

The novel describes an innocent girl Nasijianka fell in love with a young tenant and these two agreed to meet on a bridge one year later in Petersburg, although the tenant did not show up, the girl felt a little bit disappointed but still believe that he would show.

The protagonist "the illusionist" -- a poor intellectual in Petersburg was deeply impressed by the girl's affection and comforted her and accompanied her to wait along the river for four nights.

Finally, the tenant appeared, "the illusionist" could only control his love to Nasijianka and bless for them.
