Promise You Won't Forget Us is the inspiring, honest and heartfelt true story of Belinda Evans' dream of living and volunteering in Africa.

Belinda leaves behind her comfortable lifestyle in Adelaide to take on a role working in some of Nairobi's worst slums in an HIV and AIDS outreach program.

She's one of only a few white people, mzungus, living in these areas.

The slums become her workplace and she spends her days walking through the poverty stricken communities visiting HIV positive Kenyans in their timber shacks and providing medical, social and emotional support.

Every day is full of new adventures and challenges: marriage proposals, a Kenyan stalker, near-death experiences, religious encounters, toilet mishaps and staying with a tribal Masai family.

These heartwarming anecdotes are shared alongside the more tragic cases of poverty, stigma and discrimination witnessed by Belinda during her volunteer experience.

Belinda meets many incredible and inspiring everyday Kenyans whose individual stories of courage and hardship she hears and promises to never forget.
