From Hell

Johnny Depp stars as Inspector Abberline, the detective charged with catching Jack the Ripper, in this adaptation of the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell.

Although he is struggling with an opium addiction and is haunted by the ghosts of his late wife and child, Abberline discovers that the Ripper is a man with an expert knowledge of human anatomy and a connection to the Freemasons.

As his investigation continues, he meets prostitute Mary Kelly (Heather Graham) and after following her leads, he discovers that the murders are connected to people in the highest reaches of British society.

However, as he gets closer to identifying the culprit, both he and Mary find themselves in mortal danger.

The cast also includes Robbie Coltrane, Ian Holm and Jason Flemyng.
