Golden Oldies: Triple

Triple bill of comedies featuring plucky old age pensioners challenging the conventions of what it means to age gracefully.

In 'Gloves Off' (2018) a down-on-his-luck boxing trainer, Doug (Brad Moore), must work fast if he is to save his much-loved boxing ring from closure due to outstanding debt.

As the local community and the gym's regulars rally together, they find a way to acquire the funds needed to keep it afloat.

With a large monetary prize up for grabs for whoever can defeat a renowned bare-knuckle fighter, it is up to Doug to help train a toughened ex-boxer to get him fighting fit and claim the money to keep the gym's doors open.

The cast also includes Ricky Tomlinson, Paul Barber and Denise Van Outen.

In 'Golden Years' (2016) Bernard Hill and Virginia McKenna star as retired couple Arthur and Martha Goode.

Tired of reading about the pensions crisis in the news the pair decide to take matters of their financial well-being into their own hands.

Having lived their lives as upstanding, law-abiding citizens, Arthur and Martha now decide to take back what is rightfully theirs... by robbing banks. The all-star cast includes Una Stubbs, Philip Davis, Simon Callow and Sue Johnston.

In American comedy 'Bad Grandmas' (2017) four grandmothers get caught up in a host of wrongdoing when one of them accidentally kills a man.

In their attempts to cover up the murder things only worsen for the hapless quartet.

The cast includes Pam Grier, Florence Henderson, Judge Reinhold and Randall Batinkoff.
