The annual Flasback Festival is about to begin when Abby meets Penelope Strickland, the matriarch of a large but fractured family and the grand marshall of the opening day parade.

When Penelope's exotic African gray goes missing from her suite at the Dorset Hotel, Abby finds herself in the middle of yet another mystery.

Did the parrot fly off of its own accord? Could Penelope's rebellious nephew have taken it? Maybe there's a bird trafficker on Sparrow Island or maybe... the butler did it. As Abby tries to help Penelope find her beloved Miss Dixie, she is compelled to help this family, which also seems to have lost its way.
