The Big Hat (2 Revised edition)

This second book in the A Extra Series introduces the high frequency decodable words 'get' and 'it'.

It uses 'it' at the start of a sentence, so children have to deal with 'it' and 'It' when they have only been used to seeing capital 'I' as the first person pronoun where it is pronounced as the long vowel 'i'. The three words 'in, is, it' are all used in this book for the first time.

It also reinforces the three verbs 'see, look, play'.
