Following chance conversations with a number of older women, Kathleen Griffin was surprised to find her own stereotypes of older women challenged.

Talking to more post-menopausal women, it became clear that menopause was seen by many women as a beginning rather than an end and for many it marked a new and often more rewarding chapter in their lives.

This book explores the experiences of 20 post-menopausal women from a wide range of social backgrounds and age groups.

Key themes are examined, including sex and relationships, celibacy, infidelity, self image and what they think about men.

Contradicting many popular beliefs about menopause, the women are strong, funny and reflective.
