They are not books of sermons. Each exegetical entry included three elements: engagement with the biblical text, theological reflection and awareness of the context within which the sermon will be spoken and heard.

They all respond to one central question: "What does the preacher need to know about this lesson in order to preach a faithful sermon from it?"
