I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry/Funny People/Grown Ups

Triple bill of comedies starring Adam Sandler. In 'I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry' (2007) New York fire-fighters Chuck Levine (Sandler) and Larry Valentine (Kevin James) are thrown together by a fire in which Larry saves Chuck's life.

When the pair wake up in hospital Larry quickly comes up with a way in which Chuck can repay the favour: Larry needs to remarry to assure his children are covered financially in the event of his death, but doesn't feel he can trust another woman.

Larry and Chuck find themselves getting hitched in a bizarre Las Vegas wedding chapel, but they soon realise that their marriage of convenience is going to be anything other than convenient when Clinton Fitzer (Steve Buscemi) arrives on their doorstep.

Clinton is an insurance inspector, ready to catch out anyone who might be cheating the system, and his professional eye is trained firmly on Larry and Chuck. 'Funny People' (2009) stars Sandler as George Simmons, a famous comedian who finds out that he has an incurable blood disorder and less than a year to live.

His subsequent desire to form a genuine bond with another human being causes George to proffer a hand up the career ladder to struggling newcomer Ira Wright (Seth Rogen), who he takes under his wing as his assistant and opening act.

Meanwhile, George also seeks reconciliation and closure in the central relationships of his life, in particular with his ex-wife Laura (Leslie Mann). 'Grown Ups' (2010) focuses on the reunion of five former school friends and their families at a lakeside house.

Lenny (Sandler), Eric (Kevin James), Kurt (Chris Rock), Marcus (David Spade) and Rob (Rob Schneider) were part of a basketball team that won a famous championship victory almost 30 years ago.

As they bond anew and try to educate their kids on the way the world was back then, the friends come to realise that just because they have grown older doesn't necessarily mean that they have grown up.
