Kevin Kline, Joan Allen and Sigourney Weaver star in this drama directed by Ang Lee.

In 1973 as an ice storm descends on their homes, the lives of two families are changed forever.

Ben Hood (Kline) is married to Elena (Allen) but is having an affair with their neighbour Janey (Weaver), who is married to Jim (Jamey Sheridan).

As both couples attend a neighbourhood party, the tension between them increases.

Meanwhile, their children are also searching for love and meaning but as the storm intensifies, tragedy ensues.

The cast also includes Christina Ricci, Elijah Wood and Tobey Maguire.
