The Invisible Man: Complete Legacy Collection

Collection of classic sci-fi dramas from the `Invisible Man' series.

In `The Invisible Man' (1933), when a bandaged stranger arrives in the English village of Ipping, taking rooms at the inn, he soon arouses the interest of the inquisitive locals.

Angered that he is not allowed to conduct his 'experiments' in peace, the stranger finally reveals his secret to the villagers, unwrapping his facial bindings to reveal... nothing. He is a scientist who has rendered himself invisible, and is now becoming a megalomaniac through the drugs he works with.

Not satisfied with playing pranks on the locals, the invisible man's actions now begin to take a murderous turn.

In `The Invisible Man Returns' (1940), after being framed for the murder of his brother, Geoffrey (Vincent Price) faces execution.

His friend, however, Dr Frank Griffin (John Sutton), sneaks him a formula which can make him invisible and so Geoffrey is able to make his escape.

In a bid to clear his name, Geoffrey sets out to uncover the real killer but the police are closing in on him and the formula is beginning to have drastic effects on his sanity.

In `The Invisible Woman' (1940) a woman seeking revenge for her dismissal from her job agrees to be the first to test out a new machine which can make a person invisible.

When her entire body disappears before her, Kitty (Virginia Bruce) makes use of her new form by setting out to get back at her former boss, but when a gang steals the invisibility device she may not have long before her vanished body returns.

In `Invisible Agent' (1942) the grandson of Dr Jack Griffin must use an invisibility serum on himself during a mission behind enemy lines in Germany when the formula almost ends up in the wrong hands.

To obtain information for the Allied powers, Frank Raymond (Jon Hall) must use his new power carefully, but a few clumsy accidents threaten to blow his cover and derail the whole mission.

In `The Invisible Man's Revenge' (1944) scientist Peter Drury (John Carradine), eager to try out his new invisibility formula, provides shelter for escaped criminal Robert Griffin (Hall) in return for him volunteering his services as guinea pig.

The experiment is a success, but the now-invisible Griffin decides to use his new-found invisibility to terrorise the Herrick family, who he believes cheated him out of a fortune years earlier.

Finally, in `Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man' (1951), retired detectives Bud (Bud Abbott) and Lou (Lou Costello) find themselves helping accused killer Tommy Nelson (Arthur Franz) when he convinces them of his innocence.

When the police attempt to arrest Tommy he eludes them by injecting himself with an invisibility serum created by his fiancée Helen (Nancy Guild)'s uncle.

Tommy now persuades Lou to find the real killer by going undercover as a boxer, and is forced to help him out when he has to show his mettle in the ring.
