Lorraine Gary stars in this fourth instalment of the horror thriller franchise directed by Joseph Sargent which serves as a sequel to 'Jaws 2' (1978). When her younger son is killed by a great white shark in Amity, Ellen Brody (Gary) fears that the creature is seeking revenge against her family.

Her older son Michael (Lance Guest) is a marine biologist currently working in the Bahamas and he and his family convince Ellen to join them there.

However, the shark follows them and after her granddaughter is attacked, Ellen vows to kill the shark before it can hurt anyone else she loves.

The cast also includes Michael Caine, Mario Van Peebles and Karen Young.
