Accounting and Finance for Building and Surveying

Intended for undergraduate and equivalent students of building, building surveying, construction economics and quantity surveying, this book gives an accessible and clear explanation of accounting terminology, concepts, practices and procedures. The book is divided into two parts. The first eight chapters deal with financial reporting and analysis, covering such topics as business finance, the financial position and the balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow and the interpretation of financial statements.

The second part consists of a further nine chapters on management planning and control practices.

Here topics such as costs, overhead attribution, cost/volume/profit analysis and budgeting are discussed, among others.
