As Buffalo Bill sets out to establish a mail delivery service with the help of his trusted aide Wild Bill Hickok (Forrest Tucker), devious Rance Hastings (Michael Moore) attempts to sabotage their efforts.

Meanwhile, Rance's sister Evelyn (Rhonda Fleming) grows attracted to Cody and finds herself switching allegiance as she attempts to impress him.
