In 1803, off Vancouver Island, the Boston was attacked by the Nuuchahnulth, and 25 of her 27 crew were massacred.

Jewitt was kept as a slave for two years, facing death daily.

This account, enhanced with photos, was first published in 1815, and 180 years later celebrates one of the great stories of the 19th century.
