Children in charge : the child's right to a fair hearing

The first volume in this new series focuses on children's active involvement in the democratic process.

The contributors are working in a variety of different settings and in different ways.

Their common theme is work which transforms the traditional power relationship between children and adults.

The book has arisen out of presentations at the First World Conference on research and practice in children's rights - a conference which was a flagship event in that for the first time anywhere in the world children were actively involved in the planning, the proceedings and the evaluation of a meeting about the UN Convention.
