Schoolteacher Nadezhda (Gosheva) is struggling to make mortgage repayments on her house with her alcoholic husband spending most of her earnings.

Hoping to get a loan, she visits her father (Ivan Savov) only to find him preoccupied with a young, new girlfriend after the death of his wife.

With her house facing foreclosure, Nadezhda desparately turns to a loan shark for money.

While trying to get her personal life in order, Nadezhda discovers there is a thief amongst one of her students and resolves to find out who so she can teach them a lesson.
