Father and daughter set up camp on Loon Lake. Somewhere across the water they hear Loon laugh. As the full moon rises, the two ease their canoe on to the lake in search of this mysterious Rain Bird.

Paddling quietly through the starlit surface, they meet other lake dwellers, but not Loon.

Then suddenly he appears! And just as quickly disappears. But in return for their patience and respect for his environment, the Loon treats the girl and her father to a rare sight.
