Bollywood romantic drama partly based on O. Henry's short story 'The Last Leaf'. Set in 1953, the film follows archaeologist Varun Shrivastav (Ranveer Singh) as he works on the temple grounds belonging to a Manikpur zamindar.

Before long, Varun and the aristocrat's daughter, Pakhi (Sonakshi Sinha), fall for each other.

But when his past comes back to haunt him, Varun leaves the village and Pakhi attempts to move on.

When the two lovers are eventually reunited it is under exceptional circumstances...
