American thriller directed by Ramaa Mosley. Fern (Leven Rambin) is an army veteran suffering from PTSD and newly returned to her home in rural Missouri.
As she struggles to adjust to civilian life again, she is approached by a young boy, Cecil (Landon Edwards).
When it transpires that he is in foster care his social worker, Mike (Jim Parrack), agrees that his relationship with Fern will prove more beneficial for him.
However, Cecil has many strange mannerisms and Fern is not sure how to explain some of his actions.
As Fern delves deeper into his behaviour patterns, she comes across a local legend about spirits that take the form of young children.
