Made in Dagenham/Shirley Valentine/Shadowlands

Collection of three British dramas. In 'Made in Dagenham' (2010), female workers walk out in protest against sexual discrimination and unequal pay.

Like many local women, Rita O'Grady (Sally Hawkins) works at the Ford assembly plant stitching seat covers.

Although it is intricate work, carried out in sweltering conditions, she is paid the same as an unskilled labourer.

But as time passes the female workers come to question this inequality, and eventually take their plight all the way to the House of Commons with the support of political firebrand Barbara Castle (Miranda Richardson).

In 'Shirley Valentine' (1989), bored housewife Shirley Valentine (Pauline Collins) jumps at the chance to do something different when her friend wins a holiday to a Greek Island and invites her along.

Whilst there she meets a local man (Tom Conti) and has a quick fling with him.

In 'Shadowlands' (1993), Oxford don and acclaimed novelist, C.S.

Lewis (Anthony Hopkins) lives a quiet and reflective existence with his brother in a remote cottage outside the university town.

However, his life is turned upside down when he strikes up a friendship with free-spirited American, Joy (Debra Winger).

The couple begin to fall in love, and they are drawn even closer after Joy is diagnosed with bone cancer.
