Manga (Japanese comics) are a cultural phenomenon in Asia and their popularity is rapidly growing internationally.

Manga illustrations and 'pseudo-manga' (Western illustrators mimicking manga style) are increasingly influencing advertising and graphic design throughout the world.

This book showcases the art of 100 of the most famous manga covers, from 1945 to the present day.

It features the work of the foremost manga artists including Hirohiko Araki, the creator of the hugely popular action adventure series, Talyo Matsumoto, whose new style of manga focuses on ambience and uses European narrative conventions, and of course, Osamu Tezuka, the founding father of modern manga.
