Drug misuse : opioid detoxification

Designed as a companion piece for Drug Misuse: Psychosocial Interventions, this list of practical clinical guidelines was commissioned as a joint UK effort by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health.

It includes drug treatment guidelines for UK health care professionals dealing with patients addicted to opioids (such as heroin, opium, morphine, codeine, and methadone), and covers assessment and testing protocols, psychosocial intervention and effective treatment settings for opioid detoxification.

A CD is included to expand meta-analytical data on detoxification, interpretation of forest plots and profile tables that support the evidence in the text.
