Big Book Spelling: Year 5 Photocopy Masters

Developed in collaboration with the BBC, "Big Book Spelling" encourages children to learn spelling strategies.

Investigative activities help children work out spelling rules.

The scheme offers complete coverage of NLS spelling objectives. Each text provides material for up to 30 minutes, once a fortnight.

They contain a mixture of prose, poems and picture stories to present spelling in context.

Videos of the BBC programmes "Spelling with the Spellits" help to reinforce children's understanding of the different spelling rules covered in the Big Books. The teaching notes contain ideas for investigative work and spelling activities, and the scheme also offers photocopiable differentiated dictation passages and word lists, word banks and photocopy masters.
