A Perfect World

Butch Haynes (Kevin Costner) is a convict who has escaped from a Texas jail halfway through a life sentence.

Stumbling across a local family, he kidnaps seven-year-old Phillip Perry (T.J.

Lowther) and sets off to make a quick exit. As he flees the clutches of Texas Ranger Red Garnett (Clint Eastwood), he starts to feel responsible for his bemused hostage, and decides to cast himself as the father figure which the youngster never had.
