The Space Between Us

Romantic sci-fi feature starring Asa Butterfield as a teenager raised on Mars who decides to return to Earth. 16-year-old Gardner Elliot (Butterfield) was the first human born on Mars and spent all of his childhood on the planet with scientists after his mother died in childbirth.

After befriending a girl named Tulsa (Britt Robertson) online, Gardner travels to his home planet to experience all that he's read about and missed out on for all of his lonely childhood.

Desperate for human connection, Gardner escapes his guardians on Earth, who are tasked with monitoring him, and embarks on an adventure across the US with his fellow orphan, Tulsa, in search of his unknown father.

However, the wonder of discovering the world for the first time is short-lived as scientists discover his body can't withstand Earth's gravity.
