Charles Bronson stars in this TV movie based on a real military operation carried out by Israeli commandos in the summer of 1976.

After an Air France jet carrying an international mix of passengers is hijacked by pro-Palestinian revolutionaries, it lands at Entebbe airport in Uganda, presided over by dictator Idi Amin (Yaphet Kotto).

Most of the passengers are released, but the Israeli passengers, numbering more than 100, are held hostage.

The Israeli government, refusing to negotiate with the hijackers, gives the go-ahead for a commando raid on the Ugandan aiport dubbed Operation Thunderbolt.

Incredibly, the soldiers manage to secure the release of all the passengers with only one military casualty.
