Double bill of action dramas offering a gritty portrayal of the life of Essex gangster Carlton Leach (Ricci Harnett). 'Rise of the Footsoldier' (2007) follows the football hooligan as his innate ferocity propels him into an escalating life of serious crime with the Inter City Firm.

Over the course of three decades, Leach progresses from attack dog hooligan to nightclub bouncer, before becoming involved with the ever-expanding drug scene - his passport into the criminal elite.

The sequel 'Rise of the Footsoldier Part II' (2015) begins in 1997 with Carlton increasingly paranoid over threats to his life.

After his wife Denny (Coralie Rose) walks out on him, Carlton loses his job at the nightclub and considers abandoning his violent criminal lifestyle.

But will he be able to leave it all behind so easily?
