Serjeant Musgrave's Dance

Patrick McGoohan stars as the eponymous character in this television adaptation of the play by John Arden.

When the Serjeant and three of his men, deserters weary of the colonial war they have fled, arrive home, they find that a strike at the town colliery is escalating to the point of violence.

While he promises the Mayor (Stratford Johns) that he and his men can resolve the situation, their attempts to impose order lead to further brutality.
