Heartbreak House is a play written by George Bernard Shaw one of the truly great literary figures of our age.
First published in 1919 and first played at the New York's Garrick Theatre in 1920.
It is not often performed due to its complex structure.
Based around a dinner party it's a mixture of farce, social manners and British Society's sad decline with their indifferent self-indulgent attitude.
As the play progresses Shaw reveals each character as somewhat different to their starting position.
