The Evening Standard Most Promising Playwright - 24-year-old Sigarev from Western Siberia - follows up his 'extraordinary' debut with this world premiere at the Royal Court Plasticine made a tremendous impact when it burst onto the stage of the Royal Court in Spring 2002 - and won its author the Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright of the Year.

His new play, Black Milk, offers another worm's eye view of post-Communist Russia as seen from the bottom of the heap.

The setting is a remote railway station in a remote part of the 'Boundless Motherland'.

Stranded there are a young spiv, selling overpriced toasters to the local peasantry, and his heavily pregnant wife.

They don't like the place, they don't like the people, and they don't much like each other...
