Stanley Katz (Judd Trichter), an American exchange student, discovers the egg when a pot-holing accident sees him tumble into a ravine.

With Stanley reported missing by the rest of his group, a cub reporter from the local newspaper Rosie Bennett (Mia Fothergill) arrives to investigate.

It swiftly becomes clear that she has a major scoop on her hands because Stanley has reappeared with the egg and it doesn't belong to any species those in attendance can think of.
