The Talk of the Town

Leopold Dilg (Cary Grant), a factory worker wrongly imprisoned for arson, escapes and hides out at the home of Nora Shelley (Jean Arthur).

When renowned law professor Michael Lightcap (Ronald Colman) rents the house for the summer, Leopold masquerades as the gardener, engaging in many legal and philosophical arguments with the professor.

Later, the villagers discover Leopold's whereabouts and he is hunted down and imprisoned again, but Nora urges Lightcap to fight for Leopold's cause.
