That Cold Day in the Park - The Masters of Cinema Series
Robert Altman directs this psychological drama starring Sandy Dennis as a lonely, middle-aged woman who invites a young boy to live with her in her apartment.
After finding an unnamed, mute boy (Michael Burns) in a nearby, rainy, Vancouver park Frances Austen (Dennis) invites the teenager to accompany her back home.
In her pursuit of love and affection, and to assuage her long-time loneliness, Frances imprisons the boy and cares for his every need and desire, a role the boy is happy to fulfil.
But her own desires soon take over as her possession of him grows increasingly obsessive and she goes to great lengths to get what she wants...
