"Taggart" Casebook : The First Ten Years

Marking the tenth anniversary of the Scottish Television crime series, "Taggart", this book presents reconstructions of some of the granite-faced detective's most gripping cases, as seen through the eyes of the Glasgow police as they pursue each investigation.

It also goes behind the scenes of the crimes and interviews the producer and directors, to find out how the series has developed and what, in their opinion, has made it so popular. Readers are taken on location both to the tough streets of Glasgow and the rugged hills of the Highlands to see how filming progresses and how each episode is made, and find out from the production team how murders are staged and what is involved in producing a convincing corpse.

Glen Chandler, the creator of "Taggart", gives an account of its origins, and cast members offer insights into their screen characters.
