Drawing on material from nearly 100 interviews, Warren has created an assessment of the life and work of Anna Sokolow, the choreographer of American dance.

Sokolow set her work on more than 70 dance companies, particularly in New York, Mexico and Israel, and took part in the development of movement approach.

Sokolow is also well known for her creation of pieces such as "Rooms", dealing with loneliness and alienation, and "Dreams", which concerns the inner torment of victims of the Nazi Holocaust.
