Environmental issues due to air pollution are now fully recognized by the public and government policy makers, in particular, those generated by man-made processes associated with the lifestyle of modern society.

Atmospheric pollution arises from the adverse effects on the environment of a variety of substances (contaminants) emitted into the atmosphere by natural and man-made processes.

These phenomena are complicated as an apparently inert contaminant can be transformed into an adverse one by a chemical reaction during its journey through the atmosphere.

Progress in the modelling and monitoring of the physical and chemical processes undertaken during an air pollution episode has been achieved in recent years, but further development is still required.

This book contains conference proceedings on this subject.
