Geology of the Outer Hebrides

This latest memoir from the British Geological Survey concentrates on the Outer Hebrides, which lie on the north western seaboard of Scotland.

They display a wide range of scenery - from the rugged cliffs and mountains of Harris to the gentle sandy duneland of South Uist, and they contain some of the most ancient rocks exposed in Europe.
