The "Interactive Psychology programme" is a combination of a workbook and software aimed at exploiting the added value that computers can bring to the learning of psychology.

Developed by the PsyCLE consortium, the software is fully tested by a number of UK universities and funded by the UK Teaching and Learning Technology Programme.

The workbook allows the student to fully use the software as a course supplement, helping them to structure its use, make annotations from screen and create a record of notes and observations for revision purposes.

The software and the workbook cover: Piaget and critiques of Piaget; basics of sound; design it!; nonverbal communication; memory; basic statistics; language systems; attribution theory; finite state machines; retinal anatomy; retinal neurophysiology; retinal function; sound; nature - nurture.

The programme and workbook consist of video, interactive experiments, exercises, and case studies as well as text explaining and reinforcing all of the materials. Each chapter of the workbook contains a brief introduction to the topic addressed by the above modules as well as a step-by-step guide to using and learning from the module.

The Workbook also includes associated learning materials, and pointers to further areas of study.

Most of the materials are available for both PC and MAC [indicate MAC only] and consist of a dual platform CD-ROM together with associated printed materials.
