John M. Armleder became internationally famous in the mid-1980s with the Neo-Geo movement.

By that time he could already look back on 20 years of artistic achievement as the initiator of Ecart, as a constructivist-inspired graphic artist and as the organizer of art events.

Armleder questions the relationship between pictures and things, and his presentations are subtly sensitive and formally exciting works in contemporary art.

This text documents an exhibition which shows a selection of his work between 1970 and 1999.
